Practice Areas

The Law Office of Michael B. Mangano is a general practice law firm. It seeks to aid clients in a wide range of Massachusetts and New Hampshire matters. Listed below, in no particular order, are some common practice areas that we handle. This is not an all-encompassing list and you are encouraged to contact the office to discuss whether we can help with your particular issue.

Estate Administration

Have you been named executor of an estate?  Administering an estate can be a confusing process, as it is not something that a person of the general public typically does.  The office can help with everything from filing paperwork, paying the debts of the estate, to distributing assets to the beneficiaries.

Estate Planning

No one likes to contemplate his or her death.  Most people understand the importance of preparing for death, but many procrastinate, even through the process is not very difficult.  Preparing a will, trust, health care proxy, power of attorney, and living will is not an expensive process, either.  The office can help prepare some or all of the above mentioned documents in a short period of time and for a relatively small amount of money.

Estate Planning for the Aging Individual

Sometimes simple estate planning is not sufficient to protect your assets, especially when you start reaching an advanced age. As you age, you acquire more and more assets and there are steps that you can take to lawfully preserve those assets. A little planning now can limit the government’s ability to seek compensation form your estate if you ever become incapacitated or dependent on government assistance.  Just like any other entity that provides services, most government agencies are going to seek compensation for those services provided. However, if you plan accordingly, you can preserve your assets and still receive those government benefits. As a Massachusetts and New Hampshire Elder Law Attorney, it is our goal to help all clients lawfully preserve their assets.
